Janie's got a gun

Janie’s got a gun,
She holds it up to her head
Saying “Talk to me or I’m dead”,
But no one says a word.

Janie’s got a gun,
It’s fully loaded and locked,
But she’s got the euphemism
To end her life.

Janie’s got a gun,
Please stand by and watch,
You don’t have a clue as to what
Is this circumstance.

Janie’s got a gun,
Tears well up in sad eyes,
She’s so sad, so dead inside,
But no one seems to care
   [Cause Janie’s not there
     At least not, in their minds]

Janie’s lost control,
The trigger, moving so slow,
She wants out of this pit
The fastest way she can.

There is no mother for her at home,
Just an alcoholic whore
Who has never opened her heart.

Janie’s lost control,
She thinks she’s all alone.
If only she knew about you
Janie wouldn’t be here right now.

Janie’s lost control,
She has no life of her own.
She lives by fear and anger and
Resentment, most of all.

Janie needed someone like you,
To hold her tight in midnight hours,
To keep her close,
But now Janie has a gun.

Janie’s pulled the trigger,
A loud boom and then it’s done,
People walk right by without a thought,
No one really cares.

Janie’s pulled the trigger,
She’s free from her hell,
She can go anywhere now,
There’s no remorse in her.

Janie’s pulled the trigger,
In a sea of ignorant faces
There is one that is hurt,
There is one that cries out for her.

Janie’s gone now,
This person knows it all too well,
He cries fountains of pain,
He is woebegone.

Janie’s gone now,
And he feels it in his bones,
He knows he was too late,
This boy could die.

Janie’s got a gun,
She took her life, but not for fun,
She was sad and on the verge of nothing,
She thought she was alone.

Janie’s got a gun, no more,
It’s lying in her cold hands,
It’s splattered in red,
But no one really cared.

Janie’s got a gun
Because Janie’s lost control.
Janie’s pulled the trigger
And Janie’s gone now.
